London-based tech company Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has now legally registered itself as a separate entity in India. CMF targets budget and mid segment buyers, with a focus to serve global markets from here onwards.
CMF got registered itself on December 23, 2025 and now will be known as CMF India Private Limited.
Akis Evangelidis, co-founder and India President of Nothing while quoting Minister of IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, shared on X, “India is increasingly positioning itself at the forefront of the global consumer tech ecosystem, driven by years of sustained progress and ambition. The work done has been remarkable.”
“CMF has an important role to play in that journey and we’re happy to share that it is now a separate, legally incorporated entity in India,” he added where the minister said that under Make in India, Apple had shipped $50 billion worth mobile phones in 2025.
Mr. Vaishnaw added that electronics production has increased 6 times in last 11 years. And electronics exports have grown 8 times. Adding to the ecosystem, 46 component manufacturing projects, laptop, server, and hearable manufacturers are making electronics manufacturing as a major driver of manufacturing economy.
“Four semiconductor plants will start commercial production this year. Total jobs in electronics manufacturing are now 25 lakh with many factories employing more than 5,000 employees in a single location. Some plants are employing as many as 40,000 employees in a single location,” he tweeted.
Akis said that following their $100 million manufacturing joint venture with Optiemus, this marks another major milestone in establishing CMF as a subsidiary headquartered in India- on a path to building the country’s first truly global consumer tech brand. Built from India, to the world.
