Meta’s Instagram experienced an outage on Wednesday (March 11, 2026), with thousands of users affected, according to the outage report compiler DownDetector.
While outage reports began trickling in about three hours earlier, there was a sudden spike in complaints, with user reports on the platform crossing 12,000 by 11:00 IST.
Most users reported issues with Meta’s photo and video-sharing app experience, while others recorded glitches with the server connection and their media feed.
Several users on X complained that they were unable to send DMs (direct messages) via Instagram.
